Thoughts on crocheting and blogging

Kleine gehäkelte Giraffe - little crocheted giraffe

2018 is now almost a month old. Do you have any plans for the New Year? One of my resolutions is to write again. Today I start and I’ll tell you something about my thoughts on crocheting and blogging.

My first crochet project was a green-red-yellow bag. I just started crocheting it and, when I finally could wear it, I was really proud. After that, I couldn’t stop. One object after another jumped from my crochet hook and I learned a lot through books and the Internet. I found many free patterns and crazy creative ideas and quickly realized: I want to be a part of that.

More and more self-written patterns piled up and I wanted to share them with you. After all, they don’t have to sit in my drawers. Additionaly I was able to collect the crochet ideas in one place and enjoy the beautiful projects I crocheted again and again. I still like to look back on the crocheted mushrooms or the First Paradise Flower and that’s been six years!

And today?

Last year I barely crocheted and even less blogged. Sure, my priorities have shifted and that’s a good thing. But now it’s time to change. Years ago I came from crocheting to blogging. Maybe it’ll be the other way around this time? Both makes me happy and I’d love to start again.

The little giraffe you see in the pictures was crocheted more than a year ago. The pattern for this pink-green beauty is from this really nice compact little german book:
