A small piece of bavarian crochet

Today I want to tell you about my experience with the Bavarian Crochet technique. This kind of stitch creates wonderful thick and heavy fabrics. That is ideal for blankets, robust bags and coasters of all kinds

Crochet beginners will need a little time to find their way in this technique, but they’ll soon understand it. I have learned this technique using the book “Learn to do Bavarian Crochet” by Jenny King. That is a book wich offers well-illustrated explanations and nine simple projects. However, it is certainly possible to acquire the technology through instructions on the Internet.

The Bavarian Crochet pattern consists of shells made of many dcs, which are worked into each other. This consumes much yarn. And this was a major reason to quit Bavarian Crochet after two pretty coasters. I’ll use this technique again if I have huge amounts of wool, which I have to use quickly .
